The Zavian Abyss is a tumultuous quadrant in space filled with electrical storms and asteroids. The new Rebel spaceship known as the Starhawk is ready to be tested in battle, and the squadron must accompany it on a mission to take out Terisa Kerrill's Star Destroyer, the Overseer. During the mission located in the Zavian Abyss, players control the Vanguard Squadron and are tasked with baiting the Empire. Squadrons allows players to control pilots for both the New Republic and the Empire, with the game changing the player's side depending on the story.
